Volunteers Needed

Festival preparations have been underway since the beginning of the year.  Much of the preliminary work has been completed.  Licenses and contracts have been acquired, the committee chair people are organizing, and we are planning our food menus.  Many volunteers are already working to make this year’s festival another great event.  We are now asking for your involvement.

Please pick up your Festival Grand Raffle tickets.  Envelopes with names of those parishioners who returned their tickets last year before the start of the festival have envelopes in the back of the church with their names highlighted on the top right hand corner.  If your envelope is not on the table, we still need your help to buy or sell tickets, see the volunteer at the table after Mass to get your tickets.

Come and help with eggplant preparation on Tuesday, June 13 at 8:30 in Fabbri Hall.  Cosimo is ready to start the food preparation.  We need willing and able men and women to peel, slice, bread, and fry eggplants.  Kitchen helpers have a great time and are proud of the delicious food they produce – come and be a part of that.  We’d love to have you!

Attention Retirees and Adult Parishioners: Would you be willing to volunteer some of your free time? There is no pay—but the rewards are great! More than you can imagine! You will make occasional visits to the poor and less fortunate in our area. Visits will be done during daylight hours, and you will have a co-member to go with you. Expect a warm heart feeling from helping others. Jesus reminds us: “Whatever you do for the least of these, you do for me.” Training and other materials will be supplied.

Call Anthony Scarnati of the St. Vincent de Paul Society at 724-658-4307 or come to a meeting on the fourth Thursday of the month at 6:30 PM in the St. Vitus Rectory.

All volunteers for ministries must complete the Dioscesan requirements of the Safe Environment Policy with regard to minors established for those in positions of trust.
